Sensational North African restaurant in the centre of York. The service is wonderful as is the food.

A really surprising find, and one of our favorite restaurants on our trip through England. Every menu item was fresh, well balanced, and flavorful. Lamb Shank Tanjia fell off the bone, so tasty! Persian chicken was a hit. Butternut Squash Tajine had all the right spices with a touch of sweetness, perfectly done (not over cooked and mushy). And the best was the Zaalouk appetizer -- definitely get that. They apparently have a Street Food Stall in the Shambles Market. Had I known, I would have had lunch there!

A food booth in the Shambles Market of York that is highly rated on TripAdvisor, so I paid it a visit while in the city. The menu was written on a blackboard and I tried the Spicy Moroccan Lamb Sausage. It was decent.
